New rules for fish entrainment - New export quota.
From the 1st of January 2019 the new customs regulation will come into force in Norway.
Then the entrainment of fish is limited to 20 kilograms or 10 kilograms. All accommodations at Hitra Turistservice are registered tourist fishing businesses. To be allowed to carry 20 kilograms of fish, our guests must report catch numbers (quantity) for cod, coalfish, redfish, halibut and Steinbeißer the homeowner.
After the homeowners have received the catch numbers from the guests, the guests get a confirmation for the export of 20 kilograms of fish.
The guests who do not report catch numbers may only carry 10 kilograms of fish.
Hitra - one of Norway’s biggest islands
Hitra is one of Norway’s biggest islands, 707 km² of woodland, moors, skerries and small fjords, and maybe you’ll be treated to a sighting of our very prevalent wild red deer.
We want you to relax on our wonderful island, experience an unforgettable holiday and of course partake in the many great fishing opportunities. Additionally, there is always somebody in our Tourist Service Office, should you need help or advice.
The island of Frøya
Off the coast of Hitra lies the island of Frøya with its unique, wild and craggy landscape. The natural power of the Atlantic is absorbed by some 4000 islands and skerries. The island has an area of 147 km² and the angling possibilities either from the shore or on the open sea are virtually endless. The tunnel leading over to Frøya has been free of charge.
